SOWOS 6 - 6th International Symposium on Treatment of Wastewater and Waste on Ships, November 16th, 2012 in Hamburg
|
Introduction
Next year the Development and Assessment Institute in Waste Water Technology at RWTH-Aachen University (PIA) is arranging a Symposium on Treatment of Waste Water and Waste on Ships in cooperation with the Ship Safety Division (BG for Transport and Traffic) and the German Shipowners´ Association (VDR).
The seas are the largest ecological system of the earth. Seagoing vessels are usually used in long-distance traffic and are not regionally limited. Thus an international, goal-oriented cooperation of all involved parties is required in order to protect the sea.
Solutions can be created only by cooperation of all parties involved. In previous symposiums about sewage, bilge and ballast water and flue gas cleaning, it has become clear that there is a need for substantial discussion on all these topics.
Due to this demand, it was decided that a 6th Symposium should be arranged.
SOWOS will provide room and enable discussions between all parties concerned in an informal meeting.
SOWOS is a conference for all the parties involved (authorities, certifying bodies, constructors, operators, shipowners, ship yards, etc.).
In addition to the symposium, there will also be a trade exhibition.
Call for Exhibitors and Sponsors
Companies involved in this matter are invited to support the conference by advertising or renting exhibition space. All sponsors will be acknowledged in the conference.
Official Language
The official language of the conference will be English and will be used in all correspondence, presentations and publications.
Venue of the Conference
The conference will be held at Handwerkskammer in the City of Hamburg, Germany.
On the evening of 15th November 2012, there will be a "warm-up" at a restaurant in Hamburg
